Munsterific joins ANBUFEST 2010
Cosplayers and animé fanatics gear up, because from 5 PM until sawa on Saturday, February 13, ANBUFEST 2010, a cosplay event will be held at the 888 Chinatown Square and then at the Provincial Lagoon. Cosplayers will get to meet fellow enthusiasts and partake in fun activities. Fifty Bantay Bata 163 cans will be distributed among the participants in the hopes that providing passersby the opportunity to meet and take pictures with their favorite animé characters will generate goodwill and encourage donations.
Munsterific, in cooperation with 888 Chinatown Square Bacolod , Pepsi, and ABS-CBN Bantay Bata 163, will be sponsoring Tinta Productions and Hitsuzen, two groups of cosplayers whose objective it is to spread the love of cosplay throughout Bacolod City and beyond.
Cosplaying, short for costume play, is a performing art where costumes are used to portray characters in Japanese animation. For well over a decade now, ever since RPN 9 and GMA 7 began broadcasting series after series, Japanese animation has been and still is hugely popular among grade schoolers, high schoolers, college undergraduates, and young professionals. Many in their thirties and even forties enjoy animé as well, and this not inconsiderable appeal is still growing.
So if you're looking for fun on gimmick night, you're more than welcome at 888 Chinatown Square on February 13. Better yet, come in Anbu gear so you can join our games and get a chance at winning cool prizes!
